Filter units are designed to filter any product out of the air line to protect key components of the pneumatic conveying line, in a vacuum system a filter unit will be used in line with the blower so if any particles make it past the discharging unit, this will not end up causing damage to the blower.
Filters can also be used to stop dust escaping out of the process and into hazardous zones where the dust could cause a problem.
